San Clemente, CA – Sambazon, the global leader in the sustainable harvesting of organic açai, has announced the March 2011 opening of its first café in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, southern California.
“It’s been our dream since we started Sambazon over ten years ago to have our own Café where we can share our favorite recipes of açai bowls and smoothies with our customers,” noted Ryan Black, co-founder of Sambazon with his brother Jeremy.
A perfect representation of the brand, the Sambazon Açai Café is furnished with sustainably sourced materials and was designed in collaboration with eVocal, a community of local artists who specialize in eco design, apparel production, and environmental revitalization. “We continue to seek out innovative products, sustainable materials and energy efficient resources, and are firm in our commitment to better social and environmental practices in every area our business touches,” added Mr. Black.
Some of our efforts include the use of:
- Furniture and fixtures fabricated from reclaimed and salvaged metal, wood, fabrics and hardware.
- Counter front and wood interiors from rescued Acacia wood.
- Lighting crafted from recycled glass and found elements.
- Energy saving light bulbs.
- Water-based non-toxic paints, stains, glues and finishes.
The café offers 100% organic and sustainable Brazilian superfoods, including all-natural açaí bowls and smoothies, along with coffee, herbal teas and hot snacks. Signature bowls include The Rio Bowl with original açaí packs, apple juice, granola and banana; Coconut Mango Bowl with original açaí packs, apple juice, granola, mango, banana and coconut shavings; and the namesake specialties, Burnquist’s Berry Bowl with original açaí packs, apple juice, banana, granola, strawberry and blueberry; and Machado’s PB & Banana Bowl with original açaí packs, chocolate hemp milk, peanut butter, granola and banana.
